Mojang has started Minecraft 2025 with an exciting new Snapshot, bringing more depth and detail to the game. Check out the unique Pig variants, which spawn depending on the climate in specific locations. The game’s flora now includes a new flower and other tree types can now enjoy the falling leaves movement. Having said that, let’s dive deep into these updates and see all the new changes that were added in the latest Minecraft Snapshot.

Minecraft Snapshot: All New Features

1. New Pig Variants

With the newest Snapshot of Minecraft, there come two new pig varieties. The first variety spawns in hot and humid regions, whereas the other spawns in relatively colder regions. However, the ones that spawn in temperate zones are usually pink ones we are playing with. The Warm Pig has a rusty orange-brown appearance, while the Cold Pigs have a furry beige-colored appearance. The Taiga, Windswept Hills, and Forests make up the cold regions, while the Savanna, Jungles, and Badlands make up the warm regions.

2. Wildflowers and Leaf Litter

The newest flower kind in the game are called Wildflowers, and they resemble the petals of cherry blossoms. These wildflowers are yellow and white and are generated in both the Birch Forests and the Meadows. You can place the Wildflowers on the grass blocks, and every block can host up to four wildflowers. Additionally, you can use a wildflower to obtain a yellow dye.

3. Falling Leaves

In the last update, The Garden Awakens also introduced animation of falling leaves but was restricted to the Pale Garden Biome. In snapshot 25W02A, you also get the same animation falling from other trees of the Overworld. Additionally, each tree with different leaf shades will drop an animation of a leaf of that color.

4. Pale Garden Changes

Earlier, we used to have tight pockets for the biomes of the Pale Garden, and they only occurred in the Dark Forests. Mojang listened to the community, so this change was added to the game. Now, the Pale Garden occupies a bit more space in the Dark Forests and happens more often. Now, you can add a nametag to the Creaking so that it doesn’t despawn when sunlight falls in the biome.

5. New Lodestone Recipe

The Lodestone was quite challenging to make as it required Netherite, but Mojang has changed the recipe in the latest Snapshot and does not require any Netherite to make it. Just some Chiseled Stone blocks and an Iron ingot would be needed to craft the Lodestone. Moreover, you can use a map to implement the Lodestone on it as a checkpoint. Lastly, now the Lodestones are found within the chests of the Ruined Portals.

6. Additional Changes

Along with these changes, a few others cannot be placed under the specified categories but are minor as compared to the others. New sounds have been added for Iron blocks, bars, trapdoors, doors, and plates. Now, specific loot drops of Zombified piglins when they die on the farm or in front of the player. Now, badlands biomes can create new farm animals. The Sparser grass is now less likely to spawn in the Meadows.
